| 7/23/08 Rained Out... Cookout at Kopellah Speedway Friday, July 25th Wally & Tim Stoltzman's friend, Larry Jiles, will be furnishing a rib and chicken cookout after the races!!!! Feel free to bring a dessert, but Larry, Wally, & Tim will be taking care of the rest. Thanks in advance...what a great gesture! |
| 7/27/08 Lunch prior to the races at Rice Lake Speedway August 2 George and Audrey Shields extend you an invitation to spend your Saturday before the evening's races at their home near Cameron, WI. George and Audrey will furnish the meat and beans. Bring a dish to pass if you wish. All are welcome! Lunch will be around 1:00 or 1:30. This will be a day to "honor the ladies". Each lady present will receive a gift. Bring the wives and friends. |

| 9/04/08 Northern Vintage Stockcar Racers has received a beautiful, mirrored collector picture of two flying Green Winged Teal from one of our generous sponsors, General Beer Northwest from Barron, WI. This collector picture is one of a series of four. This picture will be sold to the highest bidder by silent auction. Funds from the sale will be used to help NVSR carry on our work and to preserve the history of "Vintage Racing" by introducing this history to the public. This is a chance for all to support NVSR and also be the proud owner of this fantastic mirrored picture. Please enter your bid on paper with your name, address, and phone number. Please in an envelope, seal, and mail to NVSR at 2174 13/12 1/2 Avenue, Cameron, WI 54822. Be sure to mark "BID" on the envelope to ensure it will not be opened in error. Members and guests may also enter their bids the night of our banquet. The highest bidder will be awarded the picture on October 25th, 2008 at our banquet. Bidding is open to all members and to the general public. Miller High Life Wildlife Mirror Series (15 1/2 x 26 1/2 inches) First in a series of four Terry Doughty, a nationally known wildlife artist, has received more than thirty awards attesting to the quality of his work. Terry, who is self-taught, is the first Wisconsin artist to win the waterfowl, pheasant, and turkey stamp designs (Grand Slam) in the same year (2005). He is a three time winner of the Wisconsin Waterfowl Stamp Design and has won the Pheasant Stamp twice. Additionally, Terry has placed second twice in the Federal Duck Stamp Design (1999 with the Black Scoter and 2002 with Wood Ducks). Terry lives his art. An avid fisherman and hunter, he does not separate the outdoor experience from his work. Instead, the experience continues on canvas. Click on the picture below to enlarge. |
| 10/09/08 NVSR Banquet Saturday, October 25th has been chosen as the date for our annual banquet. It will be held at the Boardman By-Pass establishment, located in Boardman, WI (between New Richmond and Hudson on County Road A - across the street from Meister's Bar). This banquet is for members, their families, pit crews, and of course our sponsors. There will be door prizes. Members will vote for the "Sportsman of the Year" and "Hard Luck Award". Board of Directors will pick the "Rookie of the Year" and "Most Improved Driver". This year, all food and drinks will be furnished by the club. Com and bring your appetite. The meal will be prepared by Chef Larry. We all know him, he cooked chicken and ribs for us at Cedar Lake Speedway, and it was terrific. Social hour is at 5:00 and dinner is at 6:00. After our meal, a short program will follow. Videos of this summer's races will also be shown. Come and have a great time. This is an invitation to all our great sponsors and their families. Please come and join us. We would like to introduce you to all our members, so they can show their appreciation for what you have done for us. Hope to see you there. | 10/09/08 Shortly after the banquet, the board of directors will start working on rules, etc for the upcoming year. If anyone is contemplating building a vintage racer, they should contact one of the board members before spending a lot of money. Some rules may or may not change. The board of directors would also like to have your input on any subject. |
| 12/06/08 Important Rules Meeting & Election of Officers The rules meeting and election of two officers will be on Sunday, January 4th at 1:00 pm. The meeting will be held at Boardman ByPass in Boardman, WI. Election of two officers will be held at this meeting. The terms of Ricci Lepinski & Dan (Bear) Herold will expire. New and future members are welcome!! |
