Grand Rapids Time Trials

As anyone who attended the races this year at the "dunes" you already know the track was slower for us during the time trials. We would have been doomed without that sleek IHC water truck. Thanks to the driver of that truck who gave us a racy track. Hot and dry weather coupled with afternoon racing always makes for a challenge. This can be a racy track as I well know--my FIRST feature win was here. enough already edited 7/29 I neglected to mention the One main and important person

Grand Rapids Mechanics Race

The immensely popular Mechanics Race was really a good one this year. And Yes there was a few wringers in the group--I couldn't see the teeth, but I know there was a mile wide smile on the driver of the #06 modified and the "pro" in the 20 again car showed just what he could do with a car that did not have points; that is points in the distributor.. Line-up Driver #70 Rob Niemela #55 Nick Seamen #06 Bill Feddema #54

About

The NVSR was established in 1999 as a non-profit organization for the purpose of promoting vintage racing and to preserve the history of a by-gone era.

The club was formed with six members. In 2006 we had 57 members. Our growth and popularity has been unbelievable, and our membership and vintage car count is continuing to grow at a rapid pace.

We travel to approximately 19 dirt tracks throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin and Eastern North Dakota, with occasional races with other vintage car organizations. Some of our club members have traveled to Iowa, Nebraska, Florida and Arkansas for special vintage race dates.

Our cars are primarily vintage coupes, roadsters, full bodies and super modifieds. Drivers must be 16-years of age. Some of our drivers started with no experience and some are retired drivers. We’re interested in safe racing and preserving the history of a past era, all while having a good time.

New members are always welcome. Rules and information can be obtained by contacting one of our board members. Talk to any of our members about how to become a member or how to obtain a vintage race car. If you’re interested, check out our Contact Us page for information.
