There is one NVSR modified driver that when his name is mentioned around any old-timer, elicits more comments and stories than any other driver. He has led a varied and interesting life even though he is really just a kid. Dave Lepper, the owner/driver of the #18 supermod, grew up in the Grand Rapids, Mn area. Dave was interested in cars since a little boy, probably playing with matchbox cars, first. When Dave was 13 years old, his Grandfather bought him a Pontiac for 30 dollars and thus was

This short profile is of a fairly new member of NVSR's but not new to racing. 68 year old Terry Bartick lives in Scandia Valley, Mn, about 9 miles SE of Motley, Mn. For those of you that only show up to race at St Croix Valley and Cedar Lake; Motley is west of Brainerd. Terry is a Vietnam Veteran who started his racing life in El Cajon, CA. in 1967. About

The NVSR was established in 1999 as a non-profit organization for the purpose of promoting vintage racing and to preserve the history of a by-gone era.

The club was formed with six members. In 2006 we had 57 members. Our growth and popularity has been unbelievable, and our membership and vintage car count is continuing to grow at a rapid pace.

We travel to approximately 19 dirt tracks throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin and Eastern North Dakota, with occasional races with other vintage car organizations. Some of our club members have traveled to Iowa, Nebraska, Florida and Arkansas for special vintage race dates.

Our cars are primarily vintage coupes, roadsters, full bodies and super modifieds. Drivers must be 16-years of age. Some of our drivers started with no experience and some are retired drivers. We’re interested in safe racing and preserving the history of a past era, all while having a good time.

New members are always welcome. Rules and information can be obtained by contacting one of our board members. Talk to any of our members about how to become a member or how to obtain a vintage race car. If you’re interested, check out our Contact Us page for information.
