In recent days, Steve Jensen, from Hope, Mn, lost everything in a house fire.... He called to say he was okay but had spent a nite in the hospital due to smoke inhalation. Steve owns and drives the former Dave Lepper # 68 full body. Talked with Steve last nite and he said he lost all of his race safety gear/clothing.. Anyone have any extra gloves, shoes, suit ? Give Steve a call... Steve Jensen Box 54 Hope, Mn 56046 507-390-5887

My introduction to metro-area racing was when my parents took all 5 of us boys to the Stillwater Speed Bowl in 1958. My Uncle Larry owned a 1936 Plymouth sedan that ran in the jalopy class. By 1961, he had moved up to the super-mod class in a full body '32 Ford with a 361 Plymouth v8. For the next 4 years, we were regular attendees at Twin City Speedway-later known as North Star Speedway. About

The NVSR was established in 1999 as a non-profit organization for the purpose of promoting vintage racing and to preserve the history of a by-gone era.

The club was formed with six members. In 2006 we had 57 members. Our growth and popularity has been unbelievable, and our membership and vintage car count is continuing to grow at a rapid pace.

We travel to approximately 19 dirt tracks throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin and Eastern North Dakota, with occasional races with other vintage car organizations. Some of our club members have traveled to Iowa, Nebraska, Florida and Arkansas for special vintage race dates.

Our cars are primarily vintage coupes, roadsters, full bodies and super modifieds. Drivers must be 16-years of age. Some of our drivers started with no experience and some are retired drivers. We’re interested in safe racing and preserving the history of a past era, all while having a good time.

New members are always welcome. Rules and information can be obtained by contacting one of our board members. Talk to any of our members about how to become a member or how to obtain a vintage race car. If you’re interested, check out our Contact Us page for information.
