Dennis--the real story

1/18/2015 -
As you have already read, Dennis started his racing career at an early age, generations ago. Yes, it is true, or thought to be, that when God said-"let there be light" Dennis was there with his race car waiting to jump the start and steal ( first sin committed by man) that hallowed bottom grove should anyone dare to try to use that portion of the track. But wait, Dennis was alone-nothing to steal at that point. Then God messed around with his ribs and came up with his ever present Crew Chief,

When God said, "let there be light", there was Olson sitting in his race car (probably with Sonny alongside). Under the mentoring of the Gray brothers, Willis, Doran, & Bob, Dennis's racing career was launched in 1957. About

The NVSR was established in 1999 as a non-profit organization for the purpose of promoting vintage racing and to preserve the history of a by-gone era.

The club was formed with six members. In 2006 we had 57 members. Our growth and popularity has been unbelievable, and our membership and vintage car count is continuing to grow at a rapid pace.

We travel to approximately 19 dirt tracks throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin and Eastern North Dakota, with occasional races with other vintage car organizations. Some of our club members have traveled to Iowa, Nebraska, Florida and Arkansas for special vintage race dates.

Our cars are primarily vintage coupes, roadsters, full bodies and super modifieds. Drivers must be 16-years of age. Some of our drivers started with no experience and some are retired drivers. We’re interested in safe racing and preserving the history of a past era, all while having a good time.

New members are always welcome. Rules and information can be obtained by contacting one of our board members. Talk to any of our members about how to become a member or how to obtain a vintage race car. If you’re interested, check out our Contact Us page for information.
